Department of Accounting And Tax Applications
This programme aims to train semi-qualified accountants who are well-equipped, who can adapt to and improve themselves in the field of accounting and tax. The associate degree programme consists of four semesters (2 years) in total, and during this period, students are provided trainings in line with the expectations of the sector. The programme also aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and habits to run commercial package programs related to their field, to process the notebooks used in commercial life in accordance with the procedures, principles, and legislations. Graduates can find employment opportunities in accounting and finance departments of private and public institutions, especially in public accountant offices. If students complete necessary conditions, they can move to 4 year undergraduate programmes, and open their own workplaces (Independent Accountant and Financial Advisor Office).

About the Department
Adıyaman University Department of Accounting and Tax Applications was established in 1990 and started accepting students at the associate degree level as of the 1990-1991 academic year.

Mission
To train professional staff who have entrepreneurial and analytical thinking skills, who will understand the basic concepts of accounting, generally accepted accounting principles and accounting practices, and who will ensure that accounting transactions in businesses are carried out in accordance with international accounting standards.
Vision
To be a program that produces contemporary, innovative graduates with the qualifications and high moral standards demanded by businesses.
Importance of Accounting and Tax Applications Department
Taxes are an important item among the state's income sources. Taxpayers, both real and legal persons, must pay taxes to the state as deemed appropriate by law. The accounting and tax practices department educates accounting professionals who provide information on the laws and rules that must be followed in the preparation of financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements, as well as in the preparation of tax returns of institutions or individuals, and who contribute to the collection of taxes.
Why Department of Accounting and Tax Practices?
The Department of Accounting and Tax Applications aims to train intermediate staff who are competent in the fields of law, business, economics, foreign trade and finance, as well as the theoretical and practical accounting knowledge needed in the business world, and who can use the accounting and business knowledge they receive in the most efficient.
Students who graduate from the department can usually direct their careers as they wish. The department finds a place in the accounting and finance departments of businesses as well as in institutions that provide accounting and tax services, and continues to be popular among associate degree departments due to the variety of job opportunities.
Job Opportunities for Our Graduates
Our students who complete their education can work as accounting professionals in both public institutions and organizations and private sector businesses. Students who complete their education at the undergraduate level can have the title of Certified Public Accountant after completing a three-year internship and passing the relevant exams. In addition, accounting professionals can become independent auditors in accordance with Law No 3568.
